RRI.CO.ID, Klaten - Klaten Regency commemorated its 222nd Anniversary with a ceremonial celebration in Klaten on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Thousands of participants from various communities attended the event.

The ceremony featured cultural performances highlighting Indonesia's rich diversity. Performers presented the Gayo Saman Dance, Juwiring Umbrella Dance, and a theatrical performance on Klaten's history.

The Gayo Saman Dance was performed by nine university students from Aceh. Together with the Juwiring Umbrella Dance, it symbolized the close relationship between Klaten Regency and Gayo Lues Regency.

Klaten Regent Hamenang, Wajar Ismoyo, led the anniversary ceremony. Former regional leaders, neighboring regents, and the Regent of Gayo Lues also attended the event.

This year's celebration carried the theme "Together Nurturing Progress and Prosperity." The theme encourages collective efforts to safeguard development and improve public welfare.

Hamenang invited residents to express gratitude for Klaten's abundant natural resources. He also encouraged stronger cooperation to build a more prosperous regency.

"Through the 222nd Anniversary of Klaten Regency, let us give thanks to Almighty God for the abundant water resources and nature in Klaten. Let us work together and cooperate to build a more advanced Klaten Regency," he said.

The ceremony concluded with a traditional rice cone-cutting ceremony led by the regent. The event reflected Indonesia's commitment to preserving cultural traditions while strengthening community unity.
