RRI.CO.ID, Bandung - The Bandung City Government strengthened cultural appreciation and international arts exchange through the Bandung Arts Festival (BAF) #12. The festival was held at the Cultural Center Building (GPK), Bandung, on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

The event brought together artists, communities, academics, and cultural practitioners to celebrate Indonesia's artistic heritage. The festival also supported Bandung's position as a UNESCO Creative City of Design through cross-regional and international arts collaboration.

Bandung Arts Festival featured various free activities, including batik workshops, traditional dance performances, cultural discussions, and art exhibitions. The event also presented an arts delegation from Malaysia, creating opportunities for cultural exchange between Indonesia and other countries.

One of the main performances was the "Ngabatik" Mass Dance, which combined movement, music, and the philosophy of batik-making. The performance highlighted the connection between traditional arts and cultural values in Indonesian society.

Muhammad Habibie Hidayat from the Bandung Arts Festival exhibition equipment division said the event provided a learning space for the public to explore arts and culture.

"Today, there are Ngabatik dance workshops and various other dance performances. There are also performances from art groups from different regions, including Malaysia. The event continues with live music and various art performances," Habibie said.

Habibie said the festival was not only a platform to showcase artists' works, but also an effort to increase public appreciation of arts and culture. He hoped more people would understand the importance of art as part of community life.

The festival also became a space for young artists to learn and interact with performers from different regions and countries. Participants from the Bhaswara Art Studio in Bekasi Regency said the event provided valuable experience through cultural exchanges.

The Bandung Arts Festival #12 reflects Bandung's commitment to promoting arts, culture, and creative collaboration. Through local and international participation, the festival strengthens cultural connections while introducing Indonesia's artistic diversity to a wider audience.
