- The Bekasi City Administration will develop a 1.1-hectare forest around the Bantargebang PSEL site.
- The Bantargebang PSEL is planned to be built with a building concept comparable to a mall or hotel.
RRI.CO.ID, Bekasi City - The Bekasi City Mayor, Tri Adhianto, announced that the administration will establish a 1.1-hectare forest at the Bantargebang Waste-to-Electricity (PSEL) project site.
He said the PSEL facility in Bekasi, West Java, will be designed to match the appearance of shopping centers and hotels, avoiding any impression of a shabby factory or waste-processing site.
To ensure this standard, Tri said he will visit PT Wangneng’s waste-processing plant in China. PT Wangneng is the company that will collaborate on the Bantargebang PSEL project.
Through the visit, he hopes to see PT Wangneng’s plant firsthand and expects the company to construct the PSEL facility in Bekasi similarly to its Chinese plant.
“The concept is that the building will be more luxurious than Summarecon and Four Points. We will even create a 1.1-hectare forest within the PSEL site,” he said on Monday, June 22, 2026.
Tri added that he will not go to PT Wangneng alone. The delegation visiting on June 26, 2026, will include the Speaker of Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD), the Speaker of DPRD Commission II, and community leaders from Bekasi.
“They can see directly the plan and vision for the PSEL in Bekasi,” he said.
He also expressed hope that the PSEL will become a solution to Bekasi’s waste problems and provide economic benefits for the city administration. (Annaila Azzahra-EN)
