RRI.CO.ID, Nusantara - The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) hosted an open dialogue with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and representatives of 34 Japanese companies across multiple sectors on Thursday, January 29, 2026, highlighting Japan’s growing interest in investment opportunities in Indonesia’s new capital.

Held at the Multifunction Hall of Joint Office 4 in the Core Government Area (KIPP) of Nusantara, the dialogue aimed to explore potential business partnerships and strengthen long-term, sustainable investment partnerships. The Japanese delegation, comprising around 60 participants, included government officials and business leaders from sectors such as trade, banking, machinery, power generation, construction materials, food, and professional services.

As part of the visit, the delegation toured several strategic development sites, including the Civil Servants’ Housing Complex (ASN Residence 1), the Integrated Waste Management Facility, Sepaku Semoi Dam, and the VVIP Airport of Nusantara. The site visits offered firsthand insight into the city’s infrastructure readiness and overall development direction.

Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority Basuki Hadimuljono welcomed the delegation and expressed hope that the visit would lead to concrete investment commitments in the future.

“I hope this visit will leave a concrete investment commitment for the future development of Nusantara. It is truly encouraging to see around 60 participants here, including many business leaders,” Basuki said.

JETRO Jakarta President Director Shinji Hurai also expressed appreciation for the support provided by OIKN in facilitating the dialogue.

“I would like to thank the Nusantara Capital Authority for supporting this meeting. If the Head of OIKN asks who is visiting for the first time, I am one of them, this is my first visit to Nusantara,” Hurai said, before opening the discussion session between Japanese business representatives and OIKN officials.

Through this open dialogue, OIKN reaffirmed its commitment to engaging international partners, including Japan, in the development of Nusantara as a modern, competitive, and sustainable new capital. The strong interest shown by Japanese companies is expected to further strengthen Nusantara’s position as a strategic investment destination in the years ahead.
