KBRN, Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto revealed that many foreign countries are concerned about the possibility of being unable to access Indonesian palm oil products. He made the statement after conducting state visits to several countries.
The President revealed this during his 2024-2029 National Medium-Term Development Planning Deliberation speech. President Prabowo said palm oil production can also be a strategic material in national development.
"In particular, they (foreign countries) have a high demand for our palm oil. It turns out that palm oil has become a strategic commodity. Many countries are afraid of being unable to obtain palm oil," said the President at the Bappenas Office in Jakarta on Monday (Dec 30), as reported by rri.co.id.
This contradicts the accusations of foreign countries about the destruction of nature due to palm oil cultivation, as exemplified by the President regarding the European Union's policy of rejecting Indonesian palm oil products because it is considered to cause deforestation.
