KBRN, Jakarta: President Prabowo Subianto attended the 2024 National Christmas Celebration at Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (GBK) on Saturday. He was seen wearing a Bentenan cloth from North Sulawesi, a gift from Indonesian Bishops' Conference (KWI) Chairman Mgr. Antonius Subianto Bunyamin.

The Bentenan cloth from North Sulawesi is a form of appreciation to the President, as the President's mother is from North Sulawesi. This further strengthens the national bond that respects cultural diversity and regional history.

The President said the tradition of Christmas celebration is a moment to gather with family. The Christmas celebration is not strange for him, considering that he was born to a Christian mother.

“Many of my family members are Christians, and I was also born to a Christian mother. So, it can be said, I am proof of a Pancasila family,” the President said in his remarks at the event as reported by rri.co.id.

The President said his parents rarely quarreled about religion. “Sometimes they quarrel, but the proof is that they succeeded, their son became Indonesian President,” the President further said.
