KBRN, Jakarta: Government ensured the 2025 Hajj cost 2025 will be lower than last year. Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar said President Prabowo Subianto wants to make the Hajj pilgrimage more efficient and of higher quality.

"The most important thing is to make it cheaper without reducing service quality. We need to be more efficient and effective without sacrificing facilities. President Prabowo, through House's Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, wants the Hajj pilgrimage to be better, more efficient, and more orderly than before," said Nasaruddin after the Hajj coordination meeting at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Friday, as reported by rri.co.id.

Religious Affairs Deputy Minister Romo Syafi'i conveyed the same thing, stating that many cost components can be made more efficient.

"The President saw many costs could be rationalized so that the quality is improved, but at the same time, the price is lower. We will make sure that Hajj costs will be lower this year," said Romo Syafi'i.

The exact cost of the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage has yet to be determined, as it will be discussed with the House of Representatives. The government and the House are scheduled to discuss it in a working group.

"The House is currently in recess right now, but they are willing to prioritize this matter for the sake of the nation and state. So, on December 30, a meeting to form a working committee will be held. The Hajj cost will be determined there," he said.

The Hajj quota in 2025 will certainly not increase. It will remain the same as in 2024, at 241,000 pilgrims.

"The quota will be the same as last year. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) determines the quota," said Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin. ***
