KBRN, Jakarta: People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Deputy Speaker Lestari Moerdijat supported government programs in promoting healthy and hygienic lifestyles among students from an early age. She emphasized the crucial role of this initiative in fostering superior human capital.
"All parties should support the government's efforts to instill healthy living habits in students from a young age. We must ensure that this program, designed to produce a healthy and competitive next generation, is fully implemented," Lestari said in a written statement on Monday, as reported by rri.co.id.
Lestari further highlighted the importance of ensuring educators fully understand the program and its objectives. Thorough socialization regarding the program's implementation is essential before it begins.
"Only by having healthy children with strong character can we build a competitive future generation. The government is also planning to implement a 13-year compulsory education starting from kindergarten," she said.
Previously, the Elementary and Secondary Education Ministry launched a program promoting healthy and hygienic living. This includes activities such as waking up early, praying, exercising, eating healthily, and engaging in community activities. The program also mandates morning exercises and singing of the Indonesian national anthem before starting classes. ***
