Draft Decision on Ramadhan Teaching-Learning Activities Agreed

KBRN, Jakarta: Elementary and Secondary Education Minister Abdul Mu'ti says that the draft decision on the teaching and learning activities during Ramadan fasting month has been agreed upon among the three concerning ministries.

He expressed hopes that other two ministers, namely Religious Affairs Minister Nasarudin Umar and Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, could ratify the decision and sign the circular soon so that the decision can be announced as soon as possible.

“If the three of us have signed it, hopefully we can announce it soon. What is the content, be patient,” Minister Mu'ti said in a press briefing at the Education and Culture Ministry office in Jakarta on Monday, January 20, 2025, rri.co.id reported.

As for himself Minister Mu'ti said he would sign the Circular (SE) on the Ramadan teaching and learning activities today. He hopes the other two ministers will also be able to sign it the same day.

He said the Circular will contain information outlining procedures for non-Muslim students. Details of the types of activities at school will also be conveyed in the circular.

"It will also include procedures that regulate how students who are not Muslim will be accommodated. So, the activities they will engage in during the month of Ramadan will be outlined in the circular," he said. ***
