KBRN, Yogyakarta: Regional Representatives Council (DPD) Chairman Sultan B. Najamudin expressed belief that the partnership between Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) could be further strengthened under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto.
"I am confident that under President Prabowo's administration, this partnership will not only be continued but also be enhanced, as the UAE is one of our strategic partners in the Middle East," Sultan said after attending a dinner at the UAE Ambassador's residence in Jakarta on Wednesday evening, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The UAE Embassy hosted the dinner to celebrate the Joint Sectoral Cooperation with the UAE - ASEAN II at the residence of UAE Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulla Salem AlDhaheri.
Sultan said that over the past five years, bilateral and economic relations, particularly in investment, between Indonesia and the UAE have grown significantly and should be further strengthened.
Ambassador Abdulla said that Indonesia has been a center of attention for the UAE.
UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan has repeteadly stated that any investment made in Indonesia must also create jobs for Indonesians. "Whatever we do is to create jobs for individuals," said the Ambassador.
