KBRN, Jakarta: Indonesia’s Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, attended the cultural performance “Senandung Nusantara: Ebiet G. Ade” held at the Abdulrahman Saleh Auditorium of Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI), Jakarta (14/8/2025). The event, organized in collaboration with the Harmoni Nusantara Foundation, celebrated the legendary singer-songwriter whose poetic lyrics and soulful melodies have long captured the spirit of the nation.

Minister Fadli highlighted Ebiet G. Ade’s unique ability to translate the heartbeat of the Indonesian people into song. “His works are more than music; they are reflections of life, connections with God, nature, and humanity. Ebiet is truly a poet who sings his verses with a spiritual depth,” he said.

The event was designed not only as a musical performance, but also as a cultural celebration, featuring an exhibition of Ebiet’s career archives spanning decades. Through this format, the program sought to provide both reflection and inspiration for musicians and music lovers, particularly younger generations seeking meaningful artistic expression.

Based on his style, Ebiet shared stories and poems before performing his timeless songs. A particularly moving moment came when he read a poem titled “Dipinggir Pantai” by Minister Fadli Zon before singing his classic “Titip Rindu Buat Ayah.”

There was also the appearance of his sons, Adera and Segara, who joined him on stage to perform updated versions of his classics, creating intergenerational resonance.

Minister Fadli presented a plaque of recognition from the Ministry of Culture to Ebiet G. Ade, calling the performance a milestone that underscored Ebiet’s artistic achievements.

“Ebiet’s songs always remain relevant. Whether in moments of disaster or reflection, people remember Berita Kepada Kawan. His music speaks from the heart and continues to touch the hearts of many,” the Minister remarked.

The performance underscored how Ebiet’s work transcends time, with his lyrics continuing to inspire empathy, spirituality, and national consciousness.
