KBRN, Jakarta: On the sidelines of the High-Level International Conference on the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, Indonesia’s Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, Arrmanatha Christiawan Nasir, Wednesday (30/7/2025), had bilateral meetings with representatives from several countries to discuss the latest developments on Palestine and the urgency of advancing multilateral reform.

In his meeting with the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Varsen Aghabekian, Vice Minister Arrmanatha reiterated Indonesia’s full support for the Palestinian cause and underscored the importance of maintaining momentum through the High-Level Conference to push for the realization of the Two-State Solution.

“President Prabowo has expressed Indonesia’s readiness to deploy troops under a UN mandate as a manifestation of Indonesia’s commitment to lasting peace in Palestine,” stated Vice Minister Arrmanatha.

During a separate meeting with the EU Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process, Ambassador Christophe Bigot, both sides emphasized the importance of consistent respect for international law and rejected double standards. Indonesia and the European Union highlighted that a ceasefire remains a top priority to ensure humanitarian aid access into Gaza.

“The role of UNRWA is crucial—not only as a lifeline for Palestinians, but more importantly, as a symbol of the UN’s presence and responsibility in the region,” said Vice Minister Arrmanatha, encouraging enhanced support for the UN agency.

In a discussion with Austria’s Special Envoy for the Palestine Summit, Herbert Scheibner, Vice Minister Arrmanatha called for increased global contributions to Palestine’s development, particularly through capacity-building and economic empowerment initiatives.

“The recognition initiatives recently proposed by the UK and France are expected to act as a catalyst for other European countries to follow suit, thereby bolstering political support for the Two-State Solution,” he said.

Meanwhile, in a meeting with Australia’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador James Larsen, both officials discussed the deteriorating state of multilateral systems, which has hampered deliberations on key global issues, including Palestine.

“Solidarity and collaboration among all countries to push for UN reform are essential to restore global trust in the multilateral system—especially in addressing critical issues like Palestine,” concluded Vice Minister Arrmanatha.
