KBRN, Jakarta: Indonesia announced its 12-player women’s basketball roster for the 2025 SEA Games on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, finalizing the team after months of intensive training designed to strengthen both technical and mental readiness ahead of their title defense.

Team manager Handoyo said in a statement from Bangkok on Wednesday, December 9, that player development has shown steady progress. “The players have improved significantly with consistent training and the hard work of everyone involved, from the squad to the coaching staff,” he said, as quoted by Antara.

The roster was selected from a training camp held since October 2024 under head coach Gitautas Kievinas at GOR CLS Surabaya. All selected athletes underwent intense competition throughout the training period as well as in domestic and international friendlies.

Among the finalized names are several experienced players who delivered Indonesia’s historic 2023 gold, including Agustin Gradita Retong, Clarita Antonio, Yuni Anggraeni, Adelaide Callista Wongsohardjo, Nathania Claresta Orville, and Dewa Ayu Made Sriartha Kusuma Dewi.

They will be joined by players with experience at the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup and previous SEA Games campaigns, such as Lea Elvensia Kahol, Jesslyn Aritonang, and Angelica Jennifer Candra.

Indonesia is scheduled to open its 2025 SEA Games campaign against Vietnam, followed by a match against host Thailand. Handoyo described the fixture list as a unique challenge and emphasized that the team will approach the tournament step by step.

He added that mental readiness has become a core focus in the final phase of preparations, with players strengthening communication and mental resilience ahead of the opening match.

The women’s national team arrives in Thailand as the reigning champions after securing six straight wins at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia, a breakthrough moment that marked Indonesia’s first-ever women’s basketball gold at the event.
