RRI.CO.ID,Jakarta – The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) provided the latest update on the SAR operation in Cisarua, West Bandung Regency. The search for landslide victims in Pasirkuning Village, Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua Subdistrict, entered its seventh on Friday, January 30, 2026.
Basarnas Chief, Air Marshal Mohammad Syafi'i, explained that morning weather at the operation site was dominated by light to moderate rain, accompanied by thin fog that limited visibility.
These conditions significantly hampered search efforts, particularly in the lower crown sector of the landslide and areas prone to further soil movement.
"Prioritizing personnel safety, we are conducting the SAR operation selectively. We are also gradually implementing an on-off operational pattern, adapting to weather conditions and field dynamics," said Syafi'i on Friday.
He added that before deploying personnel, the joint SAR team first conducted a field assessment using UAV drones and K-9 units to ensure the work area's safety.
By late afternoon on Friday, the joint SAR team had successfully recovered five body bags from the site. These recoveries were distributed across three locations, with two found at Worksite A1, two at Worksite A2, and one at Worksite A3.
"With today's recoveries, the total number of evacuated victims now stands at 60 body bags. Around 20 victims remain under search," said the Basarnas Chief.
All recovered victims were immediately evacuated and handed over to the Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) Post for identification. As of the latest DVI data update on January 30, 2026, at 7.30 p.m. Jakarta time, 44 victims had been identified out of 45 body bags previously received.
Syafi'i emphasized that the SAR operation will continue with an adaptive approach to weather and field conditions. Search efforts are now focused on high-potential areas based on recovery trends and technical mapping, with personnel safety as the top priority. (Annaila Azzahra/Bambang MBKA)
