RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian climber Alma Ariella Tsany is approaching her debut at the World Climbing Series in Wujiang, China, with a focus on performance over pressure, determined to enjoy the experience while building toward long‑term international goals.
The women’s lead specialist, who won gold at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand, said she does not want to be burdened by short‑term targets as she competes in the IFSC‑organized event from May 8–10, 2026.
“My target is to climb well, perform at my best, and enjoy this tournament as well as those ahead,” Alma remarked during training in Wujiang on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
She described her first appearance in the series as an important opportunity to sharpen her skills and maintain competitive rhythm amid a packed international calendar. “I’m very happy to be part of the Wujiang series,” added the East Java native, underscoring her enthusiasm.
Alma emphasized that her current priority is consistency and confidence against world‑class opponents, rather than immediate results. She credited her coaching team for providing strong support in refining technical aspects and overall preparation.
With a step‑by‑step strategy and a relaxed approach, Alma hopes to continue developing and achieving positive outcomes in every competition she enters.
The Indonesian Sport Climbing Federation (FPTI) has sent 13 athletes to Wujiang, competing in both speed and lead disciplines. The delegation departed on Tuesday night, May 5, and arrived Wednesday morning, May 6.
The Wujiang series will serve as a benchmark for Indonesia’s readiness in global competitions throughout 2026, while also acting as preparation for the Asian Games in Aichi‑Nagoya, Japan, this September. ***
