Patrick Kluivert was known as one of the best strikers in Dutch soccer history. The 48-year-old started his career as part of Ajax Amsterdam's golden generation.

Debuted at a young age, he managed 39 goals in 70 appearances for Il Lancierer. At age 18, Kluivert scored the winning goal that led Ajax to the 1994/1995 Champions League title, after beating AC Milan in the final.

The success at Ajax paved the way for Kluivert to continue his career at big European clubs. He had a chance to defend AC Milan before shining with Barcelona.

At Barcelona, Kluivert could be said to have reached the peak of his career. He managed to score a total of 90 goals from a total of 182 appearances during his six years defending Las Azulgrana.

After Barcelona, he defended several clubs such as Newcastle United, Valencia and PSV. Kluivert retired at Lille in 2008.

With the Dutch national team, Kluivert made his debut in 1994 and was part of the Orange Team squad for four tournaments. His contributions helped the Netherlands reach three semi-finals at the 1998 World Cup, Euro 2000 and Euro 2004.
