Marselino Ferdinan Profile
Marselino Ferdinan Philipus or better known as Marselino, was born on September 9, 2004. He is a professional Indonesian soccer player with East Java and East Nusa Tenggara roots running through his veins.
He played as an attacking midfielder for Oxford United in the English League Second Division and has defended the Indonesian national team.
Marselino began his soccer career at Persebaya in 2021.
He was one of the leading players from the Persebaya academy, together with other players such as Rizky Ridho. Thanks to his standout performances, Marselino was honored as the best young player in the first year of his career.
He was also included in The Guardian's list of 60 promising young talents. His international career began in 2022, making him one of the youngest debuting players in the Indonesian national team.
In fact, one of his best achievements was scoring the youngest goal for the Indonesian national team in the 2023 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. This achievement motivated him to advance the Indonesian soccer.
International Football Career
Marselino first joined the Indonesian U-17 national team in the AFF U-16 Youth Championship. Then, in October 2021, he was called up to strengthen the Indonesian U-23 national team in several friendly matches against Tajikistan and Nepal as preparation for the 2022 AFC U-23 Championship Qualification in Tajikistan.
His debut in the U-23 national team occurred in 2021, when the Indonesian national team was facing Australia in the 2022 AFC U-23 Championship qualification round.
In January 2022, Marselino got the call to join the senior team under coach Shin Tae-yong. He made his debut in the Timor Leste friendly match on January 27, 2022, which ended in a 4-1 win for Indonesia.
At U-20 level, Marselino played for Indonesia in the AFC 2023 Asian U-20 Qualifiers. On September 16, 2022, he scored two goals against Hong Kong U-20, with a 4-1 lead that ended 5-1.
