RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesian Government has officially opened public registration for citizens wishing to attend the 81st Independence Day Ceremony at Merdeka Palace. Registration began on Wednesday (5 August), offering members of the public the opportunity to witness one of the country's most significant national celebrations.

The registration process is conducted online through the official Pandang Istana website. Registration will remain open from 5 to 7 August 2026, with the registration portal opening daily at 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB).

A limited number of invitations will be available each day. Registration will automatically close once the daily quota has been filled, as public interest in attending the annual Independence Day ceremony is expected to be high.

The initiative is part of the government's effort to provide broader public access to the state ceremony at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta. In addition to witnessing the official Independence Day commemoration, successful applicants will also be able to enjoy cultural and artistic performances at Merdeka Palace.

Prospective participants are required to prepare several documents before registering, including a valid Indonesian identity card (KTP or KIA), an active email address, an active mobile phone number, and a recent formal selfie while holding their identity card.

Applicants are encouraged to ensure all required documents are ready before the registration period opens each day to help complete the online registration process smoothly.

The government expects public enthusiasm for the event to remain strong, as in previous years when registration quotas were filled shortly after the portal opened. Citizens are therefore advised to register early to improve their chances of securing an invitation.
