Prabowo Receives Turkish Foreign Minister, Discusses Palestine and Middle East Stability

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto received a visit from Türkiye's Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan at his residence in Hambalang, West Java, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. The meeting discussed the developments in the Middle East, including the situation in Palestine and Iran, as well as strengthening the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Türkiye.

Hakan Fidan's visit was made at the invitation of President Prabowo as part of efforts to strengthen communication and coordination between the two countries amid the continuously evolving regional and global dynamics.

In that meeting, President Prabowo expressed appreciation to President Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Government of Türkiye for the support given in the repatriation process of nine Indonesian citizens (WNI) who were part of the Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0 humanitarian mission.

The Indonesian government considers Türkiye's support in the mission to reflect the close friendship between the two countries, as well as their joint commitment to upholding humanitarian values and international solidarity.

In addition to discussing bilateral cooperation, both parties also exchanged views on the latest developments in the Middle East situation, which is of international concern.

Indonesia and Türkiye agree on the importance of prioritizing dialog, diplomacy, and peaceful resolution in responding to various conflicts occurring in the region. Both countries are also committed to continuously strengthening coordination in promoting conflict de-escalation efforts.

As fellow countries within the Global South group, Indonesia and Türkiye share a common view on the importance of maintaining regional stability and strengthening international cooperation.

The meeting also reaffirmed Indonesia and Türkiye's commitment to continue strengthening their strategic partnership and advocating for peace, stability, and humanitarian values at the global level.
