Polri Raids International Online Gambling Den in Jakarta, 321 People Arrested

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian National Police, along with the Metro Jaya Regional Police, raided a building on Hayam Wuruk Street, West Jakarta, which is suspected to be the operational center of an international online gambling network, on Saturday, May 9, 2026.

This raid is the result of a lengthy investigation conducted by the Directorate of General Crimes of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) in collaboration with the National Central Bureau (NCB) of Interpol Polri to dismantle cross-border online gambling practices involving hundreds of operators from various countries in Asia.

The Director of General Crimes at the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency, Brigadier General Wira Satya Triputra, stated that the perpetrators were apprehended while conducting online gambling operations.

"We caught the perpetrators red-handed, meaning they were in the act of conducting operations or activities related to online gambling," Wira Satya stated.

From the raid location, the police found that the perpetrators had various roles in operating the online gambling site, ranging from telemarketing, customer service, to the finance department.

"From the perpetrators we have successfully apprehended, the number reached 321 people," he said.

The hundreds of perpetrators consist of 57 Chinese nationals, 228 Vietnamese nationals, 11 Laotian nationals, 13 Myanmar nationals, three Malaysian nationals, five Thai nationals, and three Cambodian nationals.

In addition to securing the suspects, the officers also confiscated several pieces of evidence in the form of passports, mobile phones, laptops, computers, and cash.

In the development of the case, investigators also found around 75 websites suspected of being used as operational means for international online gambling.

The Indonesian National Police (Polri) emphasized that the investigation will continue to be developed, including tracing the flow of funds, servers, sponsors, and other parties involved in the cross-border online gambling network.
