Minister Sjafrie Attends Funeral Ceremony of Major Zulmi, a UNIFIL Peacekeeper

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesia's Minister of Defense, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, attended the military funeral ceremony of the posthumous Major Infantry Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, at Cikutra Heroes Cemetery (TMP), Bandung, West Java, Sunday, 5 April 2026.
In an official statement received by RRI VOI from Indonesia's Defense Ministry on Sunday, 5 April 2026, the funeral ceremony was directly led by Chief Commander of the Indonesian Military (TNI) , General Agus Subiyanto, as the Inspector of the Ceremony.
The atmosphere around the location was so emotional while the body was slowly lowered into the grave, accompanied by a salvo of gunfire as a final tribute to an elite personnel of the Indonesian Army Red Beret corps.
In addition, the late Major was the best officer from the 2nd Group Special Force Unit, who was declared fallen while carrying out a peacekeeping mission in the UNIFIL Task Force in Lebanon on Monday, 30 March 2026. The departed was a 2015 graduate of the Military Academy known for his high dedication, as evidenced by several honors such as the Satyalancana Santi Dharma and the Indonesian Peace Veteran.
In the Persada Parade mandate, the TNI Commander expressed the highest respect for the late individual's service.
"On behalf of the state, nation, and TNI, we dedicate the soul, body, and services of the departed to the land of our fatherland." May the path of devotion he took serve as an example for all of us," General Agus conveyed.

The ceremony concluded with the laying of wreaths and a final salute by all ranks of TNI personnel as a form of appreciation for the unwavering commitment to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
