KBRN, Jakarta: To celebrate Mother's Day, the 'Koepoe-Koepoe' brand organized a cupcake-decorating activity for 1,000 mother-child pairs at the Gymnasium Building of the Vocational School, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), in Bogor, West Java, last weekend.

Koepoe-koepoe is an Indonesian heritage brand with a history spanning over 70 years. It specializes in spices and other culinary ingredients.

This event successfully broke the MURI (Indonesian World Records Museum) record for the most number of mother-child pairs participating in a cupcake decorating activity. The event received support from the Creative Economy and Innovation Ministry, Cooperatives and SMEs Ministry, and the Trisakti Tourism Institute.

"This activity celebrates creativity and strengthens the special bond between mothers and their children. Imagine the joy of decorating cupcakes together using colorful icing sugar," said Linus Ligo, Chief Operating Officer of PT Anggana Catur Prima, in his statement released today, as written by rri.co.id.

PT Anggana Catur Prima is the manufacturer behind the Koepoe-Koepoe brand, a household name in Indonesia since the 1950s. The company produces various products, including food colorings, spices, and culinary ingredients.

Linus Ligo said this activity also served as a platform to introduce their latest oil-based food coloring product. This innovative formula ensures easier mixing with other ingredients, resulting in a more even color distribution and enhanced heat resistance.

He emphasized that the safety of their products is paramount. "Koepoe-Koepoe products not only produce vibrant and beautiful colors but are also certified safe for use, having undergone rigorous testing and obtained both BPOM (National Food and Drug Agency) and halal certifications," Linus said.

Andry, Marketing Manager of PT Anggana Catur Prima, expressed his hope that this cupcake-decorating event would raise consumers' awareness of the importance of choosing safe, locally produced products.

"We aim to demonstrate that Indonesian products possess a quality that is not inferior to foreign counterparts. Furthermore, these products are safe and reliable," Andri said.

He emphasized that the collaboration with the Trisakti Institute of Tourism (IP) underscores the importance of synergy between brands and academics. This collaboration is crucial for driving the development and progress of the Indonesian cake and bread industry.

Meanwhile, Nurbaeti, Vice Rector of IP Trisakti, expressed her appreciation for the cupcake decorating activity organized by the 'Koepoe-Koepoe' brand. She emphasized that this event provided a valuable opportunity for mothers and children to strengthen their emotional bond and engage in creative activities.

According to her, this collaboration with IP Trisakti and the 'Koepoe-Koepoe' brand represents a significant step in experiential learning. She hoped this collaboration would inspire students to contribute to the continued growth and success of the 'Koepoe-Koepoe' brand.

"Currently, students in the Hospitality Management Study Program at IP Trisakti are actively learning about 'Koepoe-Koepoe' products. This hands-on experience will enable students to become effective brand ambassadors and promote 'Koepoe-Koepoe' products through word-of-mouth," Vice Rector Nurbaeti said.

Ryan Iga Septiawan, Marketing Manager of the Koepoe-Koepoe Baking Brand, said this event demonstrated the brand's support for the burgeoning local industry. "We aim to encourage consumers to embrace and appreciate high-quality, safe, and innovative Indonesian products," Ryan emphasized.

This cupcake decorating activity also provided a platform for dozens of MSMEs to showcase their products to a broader audience.

Triono, a representative from MURI, officially presented the MURI record certificate and medal.

The event was attended by Dadam Mahdar, representing the Creative Economy and Innovation Ministry, and Naomi Br Sitinjak, representing the Cooperatives and SMEs Ministry. ***
