Linggam Cahaya Museum Represents Malay Identity of Lingga

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Linggam Cahaya Museum in the Riau Islands is a public institution dedicated to showcasing the rich Malay identity of Lingga. Originally opened as a mini museum in 2003, it later moved to a brand-new building in 2015 to house its growing collection.

Classified as a Type B general museum, it is managed by the local government's culture department to protect regional history. The site proudly holds 49 registered items, including traditional weapons, old certificates, and woven pandan mats.

Visitors can also explore traditional clothing like the Malay women's Baju Kurung and ancient household items. These exhibits help tell the story of the local community's daily life and cultural heritage.

Its core mission is to serve as an educational center that connects the past with the modern world. Through well-managed programs, the museum encourages young people to learn about their ancestral roots.
