Whoosh Prepares Direct Road Connecting Kota Baru Parahyangan-Padalarang Station

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) or Whoosh, along with the West Java Provincial Government, the West Bandung Regency Government, and Kota Baru Parahyangan, is continuously preparing for the construction of a direct access road connecting the Kota Baru Parahyangan area to the Whoosh Padalarang Station. This new access is expected to provide convenience for passengers while making vehicular movement to and from the station smoother.

The development of this access will not only involve building a connecting road. The area will also be supported by park-and-ride facilities, a more organized drop-off area, and a comfortable skybridge to support passenger movement toward the station area.

KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa stated that improving access to the station is an essential part of providing a smoother and more comfortable Whoosh travel experience for the public. She emphasized that comfort begins well before boarding the train.

"A comfortable journey does not only start when passengers are inside the Whoosh, but also from the moment they head to the station. Therefore, KCIC, alongside local governments and related parties, continues to push for improved access so that passenger travel to and from Padalarang Station can become easier and smoother," Eva stated, as quoted from a written press release on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

Currently, vehicle movement to the Whoosh Padalarang Station still largely relies on the existing road network around the station. At certain times, high pick-up and drop-off activity as well as vehicle movement can increase congestion in the area.

The plan to construct this access was outlined in a four-party agreement in August 2025. The process was then followed by public consultations, joint surveys, and location determination.

As of August 2026, the parties have continued discussions regarding action plan adjustments and the subsequent development stages for the Padalarang Station–Kota Baru Parahyangan access. Eva stated that KCIC will continue to coordinate with the West Java Provincial Government, the West Bandung Regency Government, Kota Baru Parahyangan, and all related stakeholders to ensure the access development proceeds according to schedule.
