RRI.CO.ID, Jepara - Indonesia's Jepara Regency launched Kartini Night Jepara to promote local creative industries and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The event took place along Kartini Street in Jepara, Central Java, on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
Thousands of residents visited the night market to enjoy local culinary offerings and cultural performances. The event also featured dozens of MSMEs showcasing regional products.
The Jepara Regional National Crafts Council presented a fashion show featuring Jepara's signature batik and woven textiles. Visitors also explored locally made clothing, processed foods, accessories, and traditional fabrics.
Jepara Deputy Regent, Muhammad Ibnu Hajar, said the strong public response showed the event's long-term potential. He said Kartini Night Jepara could become a regular night tourism attraction.
"If Kartini Night Jepara continues attracting visitors, we plan to hold it regularly every month," he said.
Ibnu Hajar said the Indonesian regional government organized the event to strengthen the local economy through MSME empowerment. The program provides local businesses with opportunities to promote products and reach more consumers.
He expressed hope that Jepara's economic growth would continue improving in the coming years. The regency recorded 5.41 percent economic growth in 2025, up from 4.26 percent in 2024.
Kartini Night Jepara reflects Indonesia's efforts to strengthen the creative economy while promoting local products and cultural heritage. The event is expected to support sustainable tourism and business growth in Jepara.
