RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia's Vice Minister of Creative Economy and Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, attended MASA Town Hall 02 at Tugu Kunstkring Paleis in Jakarta as part of the preparations for MASA Singapore 2026.
The event, scheduled to take place from July 2 to August 10, 2026, in Singapore, will serve as a collaborative platform for creative economy players, communities, industries, and stakeholders to showcase Indonesia's creative economy on the international stage.
Carrying the theme "A Sight into the Golden Indonesia Era," MASA Singapore 2026 presents Indonesia as a nation that continues to grow through creativity, innovation, craftsmanship, and the spirit of mutual cooperation.
Irene praised MASA Singapore 2026 as a platform that introduces a new narrative about Indonesia through the works and collaborations of the country's creative industry players.
"MASA represents a new chapter of Indonesian creativity on the global stage. With our rich cultural heritage and spirit of mutual cooperation, we are moving from individual talent to collective impact. Singapore serves as the gateway, and with the support of various stakeholders, we are ready to transform local inspiration into a global movement," Irene said in a statement issued by the Ministry of Creative Economy and received in Jakarta on Monday, June 29, 2026.
She said Indonesia's creative economy draws its strength not only from individual talent but also from an ecosystem capable of creating broader impact through cross-sector collaboration.
According to her, synergy between the government, industry players, communities, and creators is essential to driving the growth of Indonesia's creative economy while creating greater opportunities for Indonesian creative works to reach global markets.
MASA Singapore 2026 will feature more than 80 Indonesian brands and creators from various creative economy subsectors, including fashion, design, art, music, culinary arts, and hospitality. Through exhibitions, programs, and immersive creative experiences, the event will demonstrate how Indonesia's cultural heritage continues to evolve into globally relevant contemporary works.
As part of its main program, MASA will hold an exhibition at Takashimaya Shopping Centre highlighting the creativity of Indonesia's new generation. It will also present the Indonesia–Singapore Orchid Extravaganza at Gardens by the Bay, exploring the relationship between people, nature, and Indonesia's cultural heritage through the country's diverse geography, traditional architecture, endemic flora, craftsmanship, and representations of its native fauna.
Through MASA Singapore 2026, the Indonesian government hopes to create opportunities for creators, brands, and international networks to expand collaboration while strengthening the country's creative economy in the global market. The initiative is also expected to further enhance cultural ties and creative collaboration between Indonesia and Singapore.
