RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Indonesia, Armin Limo, confirmed that as of 2026, there is still no Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or official agreement regarding tourism between two countries. He made the statement during the phone interview with RRI Voice of Indonesia on Friday, June 5, 2026.
Limo said, “We don't have any official MoU or any agreement in that regard between two countries. But of course, it doesn't mean that we are not working very hard to promote our tourist cooperation.”
Although there is no official agreement yet, Ambassador Limo affirmed that the embassies of both countries continue to work closely together to boost the tourism sector. Various promotional efforts are also actively being carried out through a variety of concrete activities.
“For instance, a couple of tour agencies came to Jakarta last year and two years ago. They presented our tourist potential. Also, recently from Indonesia, about 10 tourist companies went to Bosnia. They made a tourist trip. They visited the most interesting places in our country. So that is also one of the steps to enhance our tourist cooperation,” he said.
On that occasion, Ambassador Limo, explained that Bosnia and Herzegovina offers a Muslim-friendly tourism concept. However, the country’s natural and cultural beauty actually encompasses many broader aspects.
The number one destination he most highly recommends is the capital, Sarajevo.

The Ambassador conveyed, “I would recommend our capital, Sarajevo. Sarajevo is often called the European Jerusalem. It means that you can find the mosque, Catholic church, Orthodox church, or synagogue, literally within walking distance in the downtown of Sarajevo. And also by National Geographic readers, Sarajevo was voted the best place to visit last year.”
Furthermore, he personally admires Indonesia as a stunningly beautiful country with very friendly people. He noted that for Bosnians, Bali is the most popular and widely recognized destination in Indonesia.
“Well, actually the most famous place is definitely Bali. Everybody in Bosnia has heard Bali. But the point is, there are many other places even more beautiful than Bali, but people don't know about those islands that are literally a paradise on earth,” he said.
Ambassador Limo himself has explored various regions in Indonesia, from Lombok, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, Padang, Bukittinggi, Lake Toba, to Mount Bromo. Of all his travels, the most unique and memorable experience for him and his wife was climbing Mount Bromo.
“One of the things I liked most was definitely Mount Bromo. It was very interesting. Sometimes even it was a bit scary when we came to the top of the volcano, but definitely it was a unique experience. I would recommend every Bosnian to visit Mount Bromo and also many other places. There are so many nice things to see and to visit in your beautiful country,” Ambassador Limo said.
