RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism keeps on fostering the development of the national premium tourism ecosystem through the Luxury Business Gathering event in Jakarta. This effort is useful for encouraging domestic tourists to increasingly choose to travel domestically by utilizing a variety of high-quality, exclusive, and highly competitive tourism products.

In an official statement received from the Ministry of Tourism on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, Tourism Minister, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, stated that global dynamics, geopolitical changes, and global economic conditions are also influencing the travel patterns of Indonesian tourists. She stated that this situation presents an opportunity for the national tourism industry to further strengthen the competitiveness of domestic tourism products.

She hopes this event will boost tourism, especially in Indonesia. "This situation presents an opportunity for the national tourism industry to present high-quality, competitive tourism products so that people are increasingly interested in traveling to Indonesia," the Minister said.

The potential of the domestic tourism market also continues to show a positive trend. According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the number of domestic tourist trips in 2025 is expected to reach 1.20 billion, representing a 17.53 percent increase compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, in the January–March 2026 period, the number of domestic tourist trips reached 319.51 million. This represents a 13.14 percent increase compared to the same period in 2025.

Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, explained that the Luxury Business Gathering is a strategic platform for connecting potential buyers with premium tourism industry players curated by the Ministry of Tourism. "We present sellers offering premium tourism packages and products with exclusive services and high-quality experiences, thus meeting the needs of the ever-growing luxury tourism market," Made said.

On the occasion, Assistant Deputy for Domestic Tourism Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism, Erwita Dianti, added that the event brought together 10 premium sellers and around 25 potential buyers in a more focused and productive meeting format.
