RRI.CO.ID, Labuan Bajo - The Labuan Bajo Flores Tourism Authority Board (BPOLBF) has partnered with the Ministry of Tourism to bolster overland tourism in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara. This strategic move aims to diversify the local tourism ecosystem beyond its famous marine attractions.

The collaboration will anchor the upcoming Weekend at Parapuar (WAP) event, integrated with the government's Event Staging Program in Priority Tourism Destinations. Scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Natas Parapuar, the showcase aims to extend tourist stays by offering a rich blend of nature, culture, and creative arts starting at 4 p.m. local time.

“We continue to push Parapuar to become a vibrant public space, a place where the community and tourists can enjoy the natural beauty of Labuan Bajo alongside various artistic, cultural, and creative economy activities,” said BPOLBF Acting President Director, Andhy MT Marpaung, from Labuan Bajo on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

As reported by Antara, Andhy emphasized that joining forces with the Ministry of Tourism serves as a tactical milestone to establish a sustainable event ecosystem in the region. The initiative is specifically designed to enrich the destination's appeal, giving visitors a more comprehensive experience within the Labuan Bajo Super Priority Tourism Destination.

The upcoming weekend event promises a diverse lineup, featuring a performance by singer Justy Aldrin, cultural showcases by Sanggar I Production, and live music from Embun n Friend. Adding to the community-centric atmosphere, various interactive traditional games will be available for visitors of all ages.

Beyond providing entertainment, the event acts as a vital platform for local artists and creative entrepreneurs to display their work to a broader audience.

“We invite the public and tourists to enjoy the twilight atmosphere at Natas Parapuar, which offers panoramic hills and a view of Labuan Bajo from the heights,” Andhy added, highlighting that the venue blends outdoor recreation with scenic hilltop vistas.

To manage the experience, BPOLBF has set the admission fee at IDR 15,000 (USD 0.84) per person, with tickets available through online booking platforms. Travelers who encounter pricing discrepancies on their apps can utilize voucher codes provided by the organizers to unlock the standard rate.

By merging the Weekend at Parapuar initiative with national priority programs, BPOLBF anticipates the event will act as a catalyst for the local economy and strengthen regional tourism promotion. This collaboration is also expected to successfully expand the portfolio of nature- and culture-based attractions in Labuan Bajo. ***
