RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s tourism sector is set for a digital transformation as Klook, Garuda Indonesia, and InJourney announce a strategic collaboration to deliver a more integrated travel experience. The partnership aims to make planning and enjoying trips across Indonesia easier, while strengthening the country’s competitiveness in the global tourism market.
Klook is a global travel and leisure booking platform that helps people discover and reserve experiences, attractions, tours, local transport, and food deals in destinations around the world. Klook General Manager for Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, Sarah Wan, said the initiative responds to changing traveler preferences.
“We hope to deliver a more seamless and integrated travel experience for tourists, while supporting the growth of Indonesia’s tourism sector through easier access to activities and the use of digital technology that meets modern travelers’ needs,” she explained at a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
Sarah highlighted that today’s travelers -- particularly millennials and Gen Z -- are no longer satisfied with just booking tickets. “They want convenience in planning the entire journey, from transportation to destination activities, all in one integrated experience,” she noted.
To meet this demand, Klook and Garuda Indonesia introduced a new feature, Garuda Indonesia Things to Do, available on the FlyGaruda app and Garuda’s official website. The feature allows users to book flights and access a wide range of activities, attractions, and experiences both domestically and internationally in one platform.
Garuda Indonesia’s Miles & Ancillary Group Head, Purwa Adi Gurnita, emphasized the airline’s commitment to strengthening its digital ecosystem. “Every transaction through Garuda Things to Do will also provide additional benefits in the form of GarudaMiles, which can be collected and redeemed for exclusive travel experiences with Garuda Indonesia,” he said.
Commercial Director of InJourney, Veronica H. Sisilia, added that the collaboration is part of InJourney’s strategy to enhance Indonesia’s tourism competitiveness in the digital era. “We hope Indonesian destinations and tourism products will become easier to find, choose, and enjoy for both domestic and international travelers,” she stated.
The partnership also includes integrated promotional campaigns, ranging from digital activations and influencer collaborations to showcasing local tourism activities and cultural experiences. Veronica stressed that as the aviation and tourism holding company, InJourney plays a key role in connecting Indonesia’s tourism potential with wider markets through an integrated ecosystem.
This collaboration marks a significant step toward positioning Indonesia as a digitally connected, experience-driven destination, aligning with global travel trends and the expectations of modern tourists. ***
