Senior Happy Run 5K 2026 Promotes Sports Tourism and Healthy Lifestyles for Senior

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism supports the "Senior Happy Run 5K 2026" sports tourism event, which will be held on July 12, 2026, in Jakarta. This event aims to promote a healthy lifestyle for seniors while strengthening the development of quality tourism in Indonesia.
Expert Staff for Digital Transformation and Tourism Innovation at the Ministry of Tourism, Masruroh, expressed her appreciation for the initiative, which prioritizes health, happiness, and empowerment of the senior generation, in her remarks at the launch and press conference of "Senior Happy Run 5K 2026," themed "Run for Health & Happiness," at the Sapta Pesona Building in Jakarta on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
"This event not only promotes sports tourism, but is also part of an effort to create impactful and sustainable tourism. The focus is on how tourism can provide tangible benefits to the community in various aspects," Masruroh said.
According to her, this activity is not just a sporting event, but also part of strengthening quality tourism that has a sustainable impact on the environment, economy, and community.
He also hopes that the 2026 Senior Happy Run 5K will inspire people of all ages to stay active, while also strengthening the promotion of destinations and the national creative economy.
Senior Happy Run Chief Executive, Oni Yulfian, explained that the 2026 Senior Happy Run was the result of a collaboration between various parties, including the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Creative Economy, retiree communities, sponsors, and other partners. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to developing community-based tourism, health, and happiness.
According to a release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, that Happy Run 2026 is designed to be a platform for togetherness and social interaction, as well as a means to promote tourism and the creative economy through the concept of Sport Tourism for Seniors, which aligns with the development of health-based tourism and happiness.
"This event is open to people aged 50 and above. All activities are designed to be safe, comfortable, and enjoyable for seniors, so they can stay active without worry. We believe that sport can be part of a healthy lifestyle that is inclusive for all ages," Oni conveyed.
With a target of 1,000 participants, the Senior Happy Run 5K also features a Health Product Expo, an MSME Culinary Bazaar, and art performances throughout the event.
The 5-kilometer run route is strategically designed to loop around Central Jakarta. Participants will depart from the courtyard of the Sapta Pesona Building on Jalan M.H. Thamrin, then cross Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat towards the National Monument (Monas) area, continue along Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, and return to Jalan M.H. Thamrin to the finish line at the starting point.
Registration for the 2026 Senior Happy Run 5K is now open to the public with a participation fee of Rp200,000. The public can take advantage of the presale price of Rp175,000, valid until May 12, 2026.
In addition to the fun run, this event was integrated with a Health Expo and MSME Bazaar to support the creative economy, and featured art performances to create an educational and recreational atmosphere.
