Government Enhances Globally Competitive Tourism Human Resources

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism , is strengthening synergy between Tourism Polytechnics to produce superior and competitive tourism human resources through the Tourism Polytechnic Coordination Meeting.

In a press release received by RRI VOI from the Ministry of Tourism on Thursday, April 16, 2026, Martini M. Paham, Deputy for Resources and Institutions at the Ministry of Tourism, explained in a statement in Jakarta that the coordination meeting, held online and in-person at the Soesilo Soedarman Hall, Sapta Pesona Building, Central Jakarta, on April 8–10, 2026, was a strategic step to strengthen synergy in human resource development between Poltekpar.

"This meeting also ensures that various strategic recommendations can be implemented in a targeted and measurable manner during the 2025–2029 development period, which is a crucial momentum in laying the foundation for Golden Indonesia 2045," Diah stated.

In this context, the Tourism Polytechnic plays a strategic role as a driving force for innovative, inclusive, and globally competitive tourism vocational education. "Strengthening tourism human resources needs to be carried out comprehensively through policy alignment, adaptive governance, and improving the quality of education, research, and community service to make them more applicable and impactful," Diah conveyed.

She added that this strengthening is carried out through aligning policies with industry needs, strengthening agile governance, and developing planning, research, and community service that are more applicable and have a real impact. Human resources are also key to optimizing lecturer career policies, forming task forces, and accelerating the professional development of educators.

"Collaboration with various parties needs to be expanded to strengthen synergies between education, industry, and economic empowerment. This coordination meeting is expected to yield concrete, measurable, and implementable steps by reducing administrative barriers and encouraging innovation with real impact," he said.
