RRI.CO.ID, Macau - The Ministry of Tourism, fosters the presence of the Wonderful Indonesia brand in the East Asian market by participating in the Macau International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE) 2026.

The Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, stated in a statement in Macau on Sunday, 12 April 2026, that Indonesia's presence at MITE 2026 demonstrates its commitment to integrating sustainable tourism at the global level. "This participation aims to raise awareness of Indonesian tourism, which is currently transforming into sustainable tourism," Ni Made Ayu said.

She emphasized that this participation is a strategic step to promote the new face of Indonesian tourism, which focuses on quality and sustainability. Promotional focus areas include Jakarta, Bali, Bintan, Yogyakarta-Borobudur, East Java, and Labuan Bajo, with an emphasis on special interest tourism such as gastronomy, wellness, marine tourism, and textile-based cultural immersion.

Throughout the exhibition, the Indonesian pavilion recorded 109 exploratory inquiries from potential buyers. In addition to business negotiations, the Wonderful Indonesia Pavilion also provides information services and distribution of promotional materials to ensure comprehensive information about Indonesia's leading destinations is delivered to potential tourists.

"Through the Wonderful Indonesia Pavilion, we are expanding our partnership network for the Macau community, international tourists, and the Indonesian diaspora, while also demonstrating that Indonesia offers sustainable and regenerative tourism. We invite the world to see Indonesia beyond its natural beauty, #GoBeyondOrdinary," she said.

She added that connectivity is a key factor in accelerating tourist visits from East Asian markets, particularly Macau. Travel access is currently supported by national and international airlines through Hong Kong, including Garuda Indonesia, as a strategic partner.

"The Ministry of Tourism is committed to strengthening collaboration with national airlines to increase frequency and expand the direct flight network in the future," she said.
