RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - A lesser-known natural attraction in Indonesia is drawing increasing attention as travelers seek unique eco-tourism experiences during the Eid holiday season.
Aik Biru Bukit Senja in Central Bangka, East Sumatera, known for its striking turquoise and blue waters beneath a forested hill, has become a popular destination for families and visitors exploring alternative holiday spots beyond beaches.
The site’s clear, naturally colored water, reflecting the sky and surrounding trees, offers a distinctive visual appeal that has attracted growing numbers of domestic tourists.
“Thanks God, I could come here with my family. We’ve been curious about this place,” a visitor from Pangkalpinang, Dini, said on Sunday, March 29, 2026, as quoted by Antara, adding that the trip provided her seven and 11 years old children with a new outdoor experience.
Beyond sightseeing, the destination offers a range of activities, including jungle exploration, flying fox rides, off-road jeep adventures, and interactive games, making it suitable for family tourism.
Visitors can access the site for IDR 150,000 on weekdays and IDR 175,000 on weekends, which includes adventure activities and shared meals after the experience.
The rising popularity of Aik Biru reflects Indonesia’s broader push to diversify tourism offerings by promoting nature-based and experiential destinations. ***
