RRI.CO.ID, Bali - Indonesia's Tourism Minister, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, conducted a working visit to Taman Safari Bali & Marine Safari Bali. Her coming is to ensure smooth operations and service quality following the long holiday period of Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr 2026.

“We want to ensure that all amenities are clean, facilities are comfortable, and services are running optimally. The inspection results show a very positive impression,” Widiyanti said in Bali on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

She underscored the importance of maintaining amenity standards and visitor comfort as part of efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of national tourism destinations.

During the visit, Widiyanti reviewed a number of facilities, starting from the Main Terminal to experience the Safari Journey using a special shuttle bus, to Terminal Toraja to directly observe various aspects of service.

The minister also checked the cleanliness and condition of public facilities such as restrooms and souvenir shops, ensured health service standards at the clinic, and engaged directly with visitors to gather feedback on their travel experience.

The visit continued to Varuna, an indoor theater featuring underwater performances and considered one of Indonesia’s world-class tourism attractions.

Widiyanti said the presence of such attractions strengthens Bali’s position as a leading destination capable of offering international-standard experiences.

Amid global geopolitical dynamics affecting the aviation sector, she noted that Bali’s tourism performance continues to show a positive trend. Tourist visits, particularly domestic tourists, increased by around 3.5 percent compared to the same period last year.

“Bali has also recently received The Best Destination 2026 award from Tripadvisor. This shows that Bali’s image remains strong. Indonesia, especially Bali, continues to be a safe and comfortable destination for tourists,” she said.

Meanwhile, Director of Commercial and Business Development of Taman Safari Indonesia Group, Hans Manansang, said that during the high season, daily visits to Taman Safari Bali & Marine Safari Bali reached around 4,000 visitors, dominated by domestic tourists.

Meanwhile, on regular days, visits average around 1,500 per day.

“We are optimistic that tourism performance will continue to improve, both for Bali and Indonesia as a whole,” Hans said.

Head of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office, I Wayan Sumarajaya, said the Nyepi and Eid holiday period had a significant impact on increasing tourist visits, particularly domestic tourists.

He added that the target for tourist arrivals to Bali this year remains at 6.9 million visitors.

“During this holiday period, domestic tourist visits increased significantly. This is a positive signal for the sustainability of Bali’s tourism sector going forward,” Wayan said.
