Eid Holiday: Tourism Ministry Ensures 165 Destinations Ready to Welcome Visitors

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism has made various preparations to anticipate the surge of tourists during the Eid holiday, including ensuring the readiness of tourist destinations across the country.
Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, when met in the Blok M area of Jakarta on Monday, March 16, 2026, said the ministry had held coordination meetings with regional governments and destination managers to ensure cleanliness, safety, and comfort for visitors.
“We conducted coordination meetings and ensured that all regional governments and destination managers make preparations related to cleanliness, safety, and comfort,” Widiyanti said.
Widiyanti also stated that the ministry had carried out visits to a number of tourist destinations in various regions to ensure readiness in handling the influx of visitors during the Eid holiday.
“We conducted visitations at 165 locations. These were carried out by myself, the Vice Minister, the Deputies, and also by the Tourism Polytechnic,” she explained.
In addition, the ministry is encouraging the organization of various tourism activities and events in regions to enliven the Eid holiday period. A total of around 118 local events have been prepared in different regions to attract visitors.
“We are also conducting tourism roadshows and visiting various events. In the regions, there are 118 local events prepared to enliven the Eid holiday in Indonesia,” she added.
She hopes that these attractions and activities will encourage people to travel within the country. According to Widiyanti, amid the current uncertain global geopolitical situation, the public is expected to take advantage of the Eid holiday to enjoy Indonesia’s tourist destinations.
“In the current uncertain geopolitical situation, it would be better for us to stay in Indonesia and enjoy the beauty of our country,” she said.
