RRI.CO.ID, Bali – The Ministry of Tourism has reported that tourism in Bali has remained stable in recent weeks, despite the ongoing global geopolitical situation, including dynamics in the Middle East. In a press release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia on 5 March 2026, the Minister of Tourism stated that the government continues to closely monitor developments in the international situation, particularly regarding their potential impact on global tourist mobility.
However, recent data indicates that tourism activity in Bali is still operating well, and hotel occupancy rates remain at healthy levels.
Data we collected from the Industry as of January 4, 2026, in Badung Regency, Bali's main tourism hub, shows that approximately 52 percent of hotels are at 41–69 percent occupancy, while 36 percent have reached 70–80 percent occupancy. This data indicates that the majority of properties remain in the mid- to high-end occupancy category, indicating relatively strong market performance.

Meanwhile, in Gianyar Regency, approximately 53.8 percent of hotels also have an occupancy rate of 41–69 percent, with 23.1 percent in the 70–80 percent range, and a small number reaching 81–100 percent. Although there are variations in occupancy rates between properties, overall tourism activity remains stable.
"We are of course monitoring the global situation very closely. However, field data shows that Bali's tourism performance in recent weeks has remained stable, with hotel occupancy rates maintained. This demonstrates that Bali remains a trusted and sought-after destination for international tourists," the Minister of Tourism stated.
The government also continues to coordinate with tourism industry players and strengthen marketing strategies in various key markets to ensure the sustainable performance of the national tourism sector.
The Ministry of Tourism is optimistic that with the attractiveness of destinations, the quality of tourism experiences, and close cooperation between the government and industry, Indonesia remains in a strong position as a preferred destination for global tourists amidst evolving global dynamics.
