Bali Crowned as the World's Favorite Destination at ITB Berlin 2026

RRI.CO.ID, Berlin – Indonesia has once again achieved global recognition in the tourism sector after winning the Travelers' Choice Awards Best of the Best 2026 at the ITB Berlin 2026 event. This award is an indicator of international recognition of the quality and competitiveness of Indonesian tourist destinations among global travelers.

The prestigious award was presented by the world's largest travel guide platform, Tripadvisor. On the occasion, Indonesian Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, expressed her appreciation to all tourism stakeholders and the Indonesian people who have contributed to maintaining the quality and sustainability of tourist destinations in the country.

"On behalf of the government and the people of Indonesia, I am deeply honored and truly humbled to receive the Traveler's Choice Award Best of the Best 2026 from the world's largest travel guide platform, TripAdvisor," Widiyanti conveyed in her remarks at ITB Berlin on Wednesday 4 March 2026.

On the same occasion, Tripadvisor Senior Director, Justin Reid, officially announced Bali as the best destination in the world based on the TripAdvisor 2026 Traveler's Choice Best of the Best Award. This award reflects the high level of international tourist satisfaction with the quality of the destination and tourism services in Bali.

"To be here today with the minister and the whole team from Indonesia Tourism to recognize Bali as the number one destination in the world in the TripAdvisor 2026 Traveler's Choice Best of the Best Award," Justin Reid stated.

According to the minister, this achievement proves that Indonesia is capable of competing on the global tourism stage. She believes this recognition is not only a source of national pride but also an opportunity to further strengthen Indonesia's tourism appeal globally.

Moreover, Widiyanti added that Indonesia's participation in ITB Berlin 2026, which will take place from March 3–5, 2026, is a strategic momentum to strengthen Indonesia's position as a leading destination in the European and global markets. This event also serves as an important promotional platform for expanding international tourism collaboration networks.

The Ministry of Tourism is committed to maintaining destination quality standards, strengthening data-based promotions and market trends, and ensuring inclusive and sustainable tourism growth to support the national economy.
