RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Ministry of Tourism stated that tourism conditions in Bali have remained stable in recent weeks despite ongoing global geopolitical developments, including tensions in the Middle East, which continue to draw international attention.

Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, in Jakarta, Thursday, 5 March 2026, said the government is closely monitoring international developments, particularly potential impacts on global tourist mobility. However, the latest data shows that tourism activities in Bali are continuing to run well, with hotel occupancy rates remaining at healthy levels.

Based on data collected from the tourism industry as of January 4, 2026, in Badung Regency, the main tourism hub in Bali, around 52 percent of hotels recorded occupancy rates between 41–69 percent, while 36 percent of hotels reached occupancy levels of 70–80 percent. These figures indicate that most properties remain within the medium to high occupancy category, reflecting relatively strong market performance.

Meanwhile, in Gianyar Regency, about 53.8 percent of hotels recorded occupancy rates between 41–69 percent, with 23.1 percent reaching 70–80 percent, and a small portion achieving occupancy levels of 81–100 percent. Although occupancy levels vary among properties, overall tourism activity continues to show stable dynamics.

“We take global developments very seriously. However, the data on the ground shows that Bali’s tourism performance in recent weeks has remained stable, with hotel occupancy rates well maintained. This indicates that Bali continues to be a trusted and sought-after destination for travelers around the world,” the Minister stated in an official statement.

The government is also continuing to coordinate with tourism industry stakeholders while strengthening marketing strategies across key international markets to ensure the sustainability of Indonesia’s tourism sector performance.

The Ministry of Tourism remains optimistic that with the strong appeal of its destinations, high-quality travel experiences, and close collaboration between the government and industry, Indonesia will maintain a strong position as a preferred global tourism destination amid evolving global dynamics.
