RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia has once again achieved global recognition by winning the Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best 2026 from Tripadvisor, one of the world’s leading travel platforms. The award is given to travelers’ favorite destinations, hotels, restaurants, and activities worldwide based on millions of reviews and ratings collected over a 12-month period.

The Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best winners are determined directly by platform users—real travelers from around the world who share their experiences and stories. Out of millions of listings available on Tripadvisor, fewer than one percent manage to earn this prestigious distinction.

In 2026, Indonesia reaffirmed its position as a top global destination. Bali emerged as a favorite destination among users, reflecting Indonesia’s strong appeal—from its natural beauty and cultural richness to the increasingly competitive quality of its tourism services on the international stage.

The award was presented by Justien Reid, Senior Director of Media, Hotel and Growth at Tripadvisor, during the opening of the Indonesia Pavilion at ITB Berlin 2026, one of the largest and oldest tourism trade fairs in the world. The award ceremony took place at the Indonesia Pavilion, Hall 26 No. 111, Berlin Expo Center City, Berlin, on Tuesday, 3 March 2026.

The award was received by Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, after she officially opened the Indonesia Pavilion. In her remarks, the minister expressed appreciation to all stakeholders in Indonesia’s tourism sector—from regional governments and industry players to associations and local communities—who continue to maintain the quality and sustainability of the country’s destinations.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to Tripadvisor for this meaningful recognition and for its role in continuously connecting travelers with destinations and experiences around the world. This award is especially significant for us because it reflects the authentic voices of travelers—their memories, their stories, and the genuine experiences they bring home,” Minister Widiyanti conveyed.

Indonesia’s participation in ITB Berlin 2026 also serves as a strategic momentum to strengthen the country’s positioning as a leading destination in the European and global markets, while encouraging an increase in international tourist arrivals to Indonesia.
