RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta: Indonesian Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, attended a meeting with members of House of Representatives in Jakarta on Wednesday, 4 February 2025.  She talked about the industry’s significant growth in 2025.

She announced that Indonesia received 15.39 million international visitors over 2025, a 10.8% increase from the previous year. “With an actual achievement of 15.39 million, this means exceeding the target and the results are better than what we previously projected,” she stated.

Malaysia becomes the country with the highest contribution with 71% from the total number. It is followed by Singapore, Australia, Timor Leste, and China.

The increase also comes from average spending per arrival (ASPA). It rose to US$1,267, above the national target. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) emerged as the fastest-growing market, highlighting Indonesia’s successful strategy toward attracting high-spending travellers from the Middle East.

This is supported by the known world-class gateways with the highest arrival to Indonesia, Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport, followed by Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

Aside from that, according to the data given by the ministry, the realized investment in Indonesia tourism skyrocketed to acquire 56% growth in 2025 with IDR73.55 trillion (about US$4.6 billion). This is coupled with a domestic travel market that reached 1.2 billion trips.

“These achievements are certainly an indicator that the tourism sector has a strategic role in supporting national economic growth which has an impact on the community's economy,” Minister Widiyanti stated.

The Ministry of Tourism continues to be confident from both the global and local consumers. Minister Widiyanto also stated on the occasion that these milestones serve as a catalyst for 2026.

The ministry will continue to collaborate with stakeholders to refine infrastructure and sustainable travel programs across the country’s diverse islands.
