RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Minister of Tourism (Menpar), Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, voiced pride in the national tourism sector's strong results throughout 2025, which even exceeded the target of the Government Work Plan, the reference for national development.
Minister Widiyanti, during a Working Meeting with Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the Indonesian House of Representatives Building on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, stated that this achievement is based on the latest data of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) on 2 February, and simultaneously updates the data presented by the Ministry of Tourism during the previous working meeting with Commission VII.
"This achievement reflects the results of good collaboration among all stakeholders in the tourism sector," the minister conveyed.
The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) in its latest publication stated that the number of foreign tourist visits throughout 2025 is 15.39 million. This number exceeds the government's target (2025 National Development Plan) of 14-15 million. Foreign tourist arrivals in 2025 grew by 10.80 percent compared to 2024.
"With an actual achievement of 15.39 million, this means exceeding the target and the results are better than we previously projected," Minister Widiyanti said.
Of the total number of foreign tourist visits in 2025, 71 percent will come from target countries, with Malaysia being the largest contributor and the United Arab Emirates being the target country with the highest growth. An increase was also seen in the average spending per arrival (ASPA) of foreign tourists, which was 1,267 US dollars, higher than the target of 1,220 US dollars.
Tourism revenue is also growing, projected to reach US8.91 billion or the equivalent of Rp317.40 trillion in 2025, a 13.17 percent increase compared to the achievement in 2024. Next, the difference between foreign tourist arrivals and domestic tourist trips is 6.22 million in 2025, an increase compared to the difference of 4.94 million in 2024. Meanwhile, domestic tourist trips throughout 2025 are projected to reach 1.20 billion trips, with a growth rate of 17.55 percent.
Minister Widiyanti previously stated in a working meeting with Commission VII that investment realization for the first three quarters of 2025 was Rp53.92 trillion. In the latest data, it was announced that the full-year achievement for 2025 was Rp73.55 trillion. This figure represents a 56.05 percent increase compared to the full year of 2024.
"These achievements are certainly an indicator that the tourism sector plays a strategic role in supporting national economic growth, which has an impact on the community's economy," the minister said.
Minister Widiyanti stated that this achievement will be a catalyst within the Ministry of Tourism to continue doing their best, including collaborating with all stakeholders in formulating strategies and work programs relevant to the needs of society.
