RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta: Tanjung Lesung President Director Poernomo Siswaprasetijo said the management of the Tanjung Lesung tourist area in Banten is working on balancing visitor growth and creating memorable experiences that benefit the environment and surrounding communities by 2026.

"We are directing the development of Tanjung Lesung to maintain a balance between tourism activities and environmental sustainability, so that the benefits can be felt in the long term," Poernomo said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Friday, January 30, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

Throughout 2025, Tanjung Lesung hosted various community and environment based activities, such as the Rhino Eco Run, Sunset Fun Run Fest, Aero Sport Fest, and the Exciting Banten Festival.

He explained that these various events are designed to engage tourists while responsibly showcasing the potential of local nature and culture.

In addition to tourism activities, he said, the management continues to coordinate with the central government and local administrations, and tourism stakeholders, to support the area's sustainable development. These efforts have also been recognized with an award from the Kabar Banten Awards.

In 2026, Tanjung Lesung will be prepared to handle changing visitor patterns when Section 2 of the Serang-Panimbang Toll Road opens in October. According to Poernomo, this infrastructure is expected to shorten travel time from Jakarta and its surrounding areas, potentially increasing tourist flow.

"To address increased accessibility, we are strengthening the variety of tourism activities without neglecting sustainability principles," Poernomo said.

Tanjung Lesung implements various conservation programs, including regular beach cleanups, tree planting, turtle breeding and release, and coral reef conservation. These efforts aim to maintain water quality and the sustainability of the marine ecosystem amid tourism activities.

The 14-kilometer coastal area is equipped with beach guards, pedestrian paths, and jogging tracks that are regularly maintained to ensure visitor safety and comfort. "Our goal is to preserve the natural beauty of Tanjung Lesung for future generations to enjoy," said Poernomo. ***
