KBRN, Jakarta: A hidden gem in Bali is drawing attention from both local and international tourists with its stunning, photo-worthy landscapes. The Sari Timbul Glass Factory, located in Tegalalang, Gianyar, has become a popular destination for visitors seeking unique backdrops for their social media photos.
This artificial park offers a unique blend of natural beauty and traditional Balinese sculpture, all crafted by local artist I Gede Rediawan.
I Wayan Denny, manager of Sari Timbul, shared that most visitors learn about the destination through social media, particularly TikTok.
“Not many locals come here. It’s mostly international tourists who discover us through viral TikTok videos. And none of it was paid promotion,” Denny explained, as quoted by antaranews.com Sunday, September 14, 2025.

Inside, the park is adorned with intricate carvings and driftwood, all decorated with vibrant green plants and bromeliads.
A key highlight is the Kala Rau statue, which draws its philosophy from the Moon Goddess. Visitors can sit within the statue's mouth, with a backdrop of natural stone carvings and a decorative fish pond that produces a magical mist effect.
The park also features sculptures of prominent figures, including Indonesia's first President Soekarno, sheltered by a Garuda bird made from teak wood. Other carvings include the figures of Garba, Medusa, and Dewi Winata from the Garuda mythos.

"All the figures here are taken from the history or characters of the wayang (puppet) which is a popular folk tale in Bali. So, it's about preserving culture," said Denny.
While the sculptures on display are not for sale, the factory does accept special orders. The artwork is created using abandoned glass and wood waste, with the help of local artists.

Visitors can also watch live demonstrations of glass blowing and wood carving, making the space not only visually appealing but also educational. ***
