KBRN, Jember: The Jember Fashion Carnaval (JFC) has been lauded by Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Enik Ermawati, also known as Ni Luh Puspa, for being selected as a Top 10 event in the Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) program for an impressive fifth time. This recognition highlights the carnival's significant role as a world-class spectacle and a key driver of tourism.
The Deputy Minister praised the collaboration and collective effort that made JFC a global phenomenon. She noted that JFC deserved the recognition, as the KEN program is specifically designed to promote tourist attractions with strong local appeal.
JFC, she added, is not just a cultural event but a crucial catalyst for increasing tourist visits.
To support this growth, the Ministry of Tourism is fully committed to helping JFC develop further, ensuring it has an even greater impact on the regional economy. "We are encouraging the JFC event to attract more domestic and foreign tourists to Jember, providing them with a unique experience," she explained.
Ni Luh affirmed that the ministry is prepared to provide full support to the Jember Regency administration. JFC’s inclusion in the KEN Top 10 is a testament to its success in boosting tourist arrivals, stimulating the local economy, and serving as a major tourist attraction. She highlighted that the carnival is now known not only nationally but also internationally.
"This year, JFC is once again revitalizing Jember's tourism. With the return of JFC, filled with enthusiasm and overwhelming public support, we hope to further elevate tourism in Jember," she said.
The JFC 2025 Grand Carnival, with its magnificent parade and strong government support, has cemented its place as a source of pride for Jember and an icon of Indonesian tourism.
Ni Luh also noted that Jember offers unique attractions beyond JFC, including natural, spiritual, and cultural sites, as well as export potential in coffee, chocolate, and cigars. She pledged to provide Jember with opportunities to participate in international exhibitions.
During the event, the Deputy Minister paid tribute to the late Dynand Faris, the founder and visionary of JFC, who turned Jember into a global carnival stage.
Jember Regent Muhammad Fawait mentioned that the JFC 2025 was the largest in the event’s history. "Next year, it must be even bigger and more spectacular, as the Notohadinegoro Jember Airport will be reactivated with flights to Jakarta," he said.
The regent, known as Gus Fawait, also announced the strategic plan to reopen Notohadinegoro Jember Airport on August 17, 2025, with direct Jember–Jakarta flights. This initiative is expected to make it easier for tourists to travel directly to Jember.
The 3.6-kilometer fashion parade of JFC 2025 is themed Evoluxion, a blend of "Evolution," "Luxury," and "Innovation," with the tagline Dreamy, Evolve, Triumph.
The theme emphasizes the importance of courage in facing change and embracing innovation. The 10 defiles for JFC 2025 are Anatomi, Allograph, Nile Enigma, Great Wall of China, Botanica, Nias, Origami, Phinisi, Aerospace, and Symphoni. ***
