KBRN, Padang: The Bangek River, located in Koto Tangah, Padang City, West Sumatra, attracts attention with its captivating natural charm. One of the unique attractions in this area is Galo-Galo Honey, a natural product that is not only delicious, but also full of benefits.

Galo-Galo Honey is produced by stingless bees or Trigona that are known for their high honey quality.

"This honey has a distinctive sweet and sour taste, different from ordinary honey," said the Bangek River Tourism Awareness Group Head, Hendrik Amsa, on Thursday, February 6, 2025, as quoted by rri.co.id.

The honey extraction process is carried out naturally, while preserving the environment around the Bangek River.

"We create a place for breeding Galo Galo Honeybees, so visitors can directly taste the honey on site," said Hendrik.

The existence of Galo-Galo Honey adds more value to Bangek River Tourism. Visitors can not only enjoy the clear river views and fresh air but also learn about stingless bee cultivation.

"Visitors don't have to worry about being stung by bees because Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided," said Hendrik.

This product has become a typical souvenir sought after by tourists. According to Hendrik, Galo-Galo Honey is not only a superior product, but also a symbol of harmony between humans and nature in the Bangek River.

"We hope that with this honey, awareness of the importance of protecting the environment will increase," said Hendrik.

In addition to its unique taste, Galo-Galo Honey is believed to have various health benefits, such as increasing endurance, accelerating wound healing, and acting as a natural anti-inflammatory. This makes it a favorite among fans of natural products.

With all its uniqueness, Galo-Galo Honey not only enriches the tourism experience in the Bangek River, but also introduces the wealth of local nature that should be a source of pride. This product is proof that natural potential can be processed sustainably for the welfare of the surrounding community. **
