RRI.CO.ID, Yogyakarta – Indonesian Ministry of Manpower is utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to verify partners and participants in the National Internship Program (MagangHub). This technology assists in reviewing information regarding host partners and participants, including quota reasonableness and unusual registration patterns.
Ministry of Manpower Secretary-General Cris Kuntadi stated that during host partner verification, AI helps the ministry identify connections between corporate groups. Furthermore, AI evaluates the reasonableness of proposed quotas based on company capacity.
"We utilize AI to help determine whether corporate groups are under the control of a single operator, assess company bonafides, and check whether the proposed quotas remain reasonable compared to company capacity," Cris said during the National Internship Program Monitoring event at the De Djokja Malioboro Hotel in Yogyakarta on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, as quoted from a written press release.
During participant selection, AI also analyzes applicant and vacancy data to uncover patterns that require further review. These patterns encompass participant distribution, regional origins, and the alignment of study programs with available vacancies.
"In participant selection, AI also helps us spot unusual patterns, for instance, if participants at a company are concentrated among alumni of a specific campus, originate mostly from outside the company's region, or possess study programs irrelevant to available vacancies," Cris noted.
The utilization of this technology is vital because the National Internship Program involves a massive number of host partners, vacancies, and participants. AI-based analysis helps identify patterns within this pool of information, which are subsequently examined through standard inspection procedures.
Cris emphasized that the use of AI is not intended to replace the verification and inspection process. The results of AI analysis serve as supplementary material for administrative checks conducted in accordance with applicable mechanisms.
