RRI.CO.ID, Ambon - Pattimura University (Unpatti) in Ambon, Maluku, has taken a strategic step to strengthen digital transformation by partnering with U.S.-based technology company G-Mango Inc to develop artificial intelligence (AI) applications in education, research, and innovation.

The collaboration, announced in Ambon on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, is aimed at boosting human resource capacity in Maluku and across Eastern Indonesia.

Unpatti Rector Freddy Leiwakabessy said the partnership with the Delaware-based health technology firm expands the uuniversity's international network while reinforcing AI-driven innovation in higher education.

“This cooperation is expected to benefit communities, especially in Maluku and Eastern Indonesia. G-Mango will develop AI systems to support communication and data analysis, giving people better access to information,” he said, as quoted by Antara.

Freddy said that AI applications will not only enhance healthcare but also improve learning processes, research, data management, and academic services. AI offers solutions to challenges faced by island regions, including limited access to education and information services.

Through this collaboration, Unpatti and G-Mango will explore joint research, digital innovation, human resource development, and adaptive technologies tailored to community and educational needs.

Freddy emphasized that the initiative aligns with Unpatti’s commitment to driving campus-wide digital transformation and producing innovations with direct societal impact.

“G-Mango has expertise in health technology, artificial intelligence, and digital software. This partnership is an opportunity for Unpatti to strengthen its research and innovation capacity with future-oriented technologies,” he added.
