RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian government is accelerating national digital transformation to strengthen governance and public services. National Economic Council (DEN) Chairperson, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, made the statement at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
Luhut Binsar, shared the update after meeting President Prabowo Subianto. He said around 80 percent of the government's GovTech system has now been connected.
Since June 1, 2026, data from eight key ministries and government agencies have been integrated. The system is supported by artificial intelligence to improve data management and accuracy.
According to Luhut, the integrated platform will help improve oversight and support evidence-based policymaking. The initiative is also expected to enhance public services across government institutions.
He said the government plans to expand support for micro, small, and medium enterprises. Better data integration could help broaden the tax base while encouraging business creation and job growth.
Luhut also said the integrated platform would improve data management and government oversight. He emphasized that AI is already being used to clean and organize data across institutions.
“So all the data is now connected and is being cleaned by AI. The GovTech system under President Prabowo's administration will become one of the most important components because all data will be properly integrated and monitored,” he said.
Luhut added that pilot projects are currently running in 42 provinces, regencies, and municipalities. If successful, the system is expected to be rolled out nationwide by October 2026.
The government is also preparing a digital single ID to improve public assistance distribution. Indonesia aims to become one of the first large-population nations implementing comprehensive AI-based digital governance.
