RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia is set to host its biggest artificial intelligence-ready data center, following Digital Edge’s announcement of a USD 665 million green financing package, to fund the project.

The financing will support the first phase of the hyperscale CGK Campus in Bekasi’s Greenland International Industrial Center (GIIC), West Java. Once completed, the facility is expected to deliver up to 500 megawatts of capacity, strengthening the country’s digital ecosystem and positioning Indonesia as a regional hub for advanced computing.

“This financing underscores Digital Edge’s leadership in sustainable digital infrastructure, empowering businesses with high-performance AI-ready systems while reducing environmental impact,” said Jonathan Walbridge, Chief Financial Officer of Digital Edge, in a statement on Friday, March 20, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

The project is part of a multi-phase investment plan worth USD 4.5 billion, making the CGK Campus one of Indonesia’s most significant AI-enabled hyperscale data centers. Walbridge credited the achievement to strong backing from global and domestic financial institutions, including BNP Paribas, Clifford Capital, Credit Agricole CIB, DBS, Mizuho, OCBC, Bank Central Asia, and SMBC.

The investment comes amid surging demand for cloud services, big data processing, and AI adoption in Indonesia. Designed with high energy efficiency standards, the facility targets a competitive Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.25. Sustainability features include water recycling systems and integration of renewable energy, aligning with Indonesia’s Sustainable Finance Taxonomy (TKBI) and the national goal of net-zero emissions by 2060.

Digital Edge’s initiative highlights how Indonesia is embracing both technological innovation and environmental responsibility, ensuring that the country’s digital transformation is powered by infrastructure built for the future. ***
